There are a lot of awesome people who make the pages of MILITARY KIDS’ LIFE magazine come to life. We’re going to feature some of them each month so you can learn more about the military-connected photographers, writers, and designers who create this special magazine for military kids.
MEET OUR PHOTOGRAPHERS
It makes sense that we start with our FIRST professional photographer for MILITARY KIDS’ LIFE magazine, Christa Paustenbaugh. As a brand new magazine, it can be hard to convince established professionals to submit their work, but Christa generously worked with us to provide not only the beautiful picture of military kids for our website for both summer and winter, but allowed us to use her photographs for the cover of Issue 3 and for our back page of another issue of MILITARY KIDS’ LIFE. Christa is a military spouse who has an incredible way of capturing the adventuresome spirit of our military kids.

I photograph families, children and couples in a candid, lifestyle way. I prefer photographing connections, relationships, personalities and joy rather than posed and everyone smiling at me. I have been in business for 2 1/2 years, but have been passionate about photography for many, many years.
We are a proud Marine Corps family!
Here’s why we LOVE Christa:
Two years ago, she began a photography project that she called: The Military Village.
Prior to PCS season, I photograph military children who are leaving with their buddies and give a digital copy to all the parents for a keepsake. Focusing on military friendships is important to me as they are an integral part of our kids and their formative years.
